Today I was asked the most obscure nerdy thing I know. I replied:
The original Superman was originally designed to be the villain antagonist to a benevolent Lex Luthor equivalent, the struggle intending to illustrate the strength of the everyman against the übermensch. Siegel and Shuster switched the hero and the villain because their original idea failed to gain sufficient interest.
Why do I know this? I dunno.
Oh, Bruce Wayne was also supposed to have an estranged brother named Thomas Wayne Jr. who was supposed to be the true force behind Batman RIP because Grant Morrison loves the Silver Age, the man even dropped hints! Hints everywhere! But the editors didn’t like it and cut RIP short.
